I come to the Mangawhai Tavern with an extensive background in hospitality,

entertainment and facility management.

 This change in career path has been a long time vision of a business with my family,

 and my daughter Leaine and her family have also moved to Mangawhai. 

I completed 10 years in 2008 as the Chief Executive of the Bruce Mason Centre

in Takapuna, North Shore City, plus in excess of 25 years of experience in the various industries related

to managing a multi purpose public facility. 

 

 I joined the BMC in 1998 and was previously Director of the Michael Fowler Centre/Wellington Town hall

for 13 Years which included the St James Theatre for 8 years. 

 I have owned and managed businesses in the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

 

During my time at the Bruce Mason Centre I lifted the profile of the business

and became involved in the promotion of North Shore City.  

 Actively seeking out new opportunities, brought International acts to NZ

which toured through the country and on occasions to Australia.

 

The only New Zealander to be awarded the Certified Facility Executive, CFE,

an American accreditation for public facility management; 

subsequently became a board member of the USA Certification Board

the first non North Amercican to be invited to hold this prestigious position; 

President of Entertainment Venues Association of NZ 10 years;

Board member Conventions & Incentives NZ 9 years;

 Board member of Venue Management Asia & Pacific 14 years and Vice President 4 years; 

 Trustee of North Harbour Club 7 years.

 A Justice of the Peace, Civil Marriage Celebrant and Civil Union Celebrant.
